The History of Kona Ice
Shaved Ice has its history traced back to Ancient Rome; however, Kona Ice began a little older than the previous. The company was founded in 2007 in Florence, Kentucky, by a man known as Tony Lamb. Lamb started the company to create frozen dessert trucks of the highest quality. In the year following, the company was already franchising. Since the beginning, it has been hugely profitable and is growing even today. It was in 2012 that it introduced Kona Mini, a mini-snow cone maker. Kona Mini is designed to sell snow cones inside. In 2013, it earned an appearance on the Franchise 500 list published by Entrepreneur magazine. In addition, it was considered one of the fastest growing companies in America. It was one of the top eight franchises in the U.S. in 2014.
Kona Ice prioritizes giving in the communities it serves. In 2014, Kona Ice joined forces with its neighbor in its immediate community, Northern Kentucky University, and founded an internship program. It also gave $2000 to one of the university’s business-focused departments. The company also joined forces with Make-A-Wish Foundation and has given $25 million to local outreach organizations since 2007. It’s now in 43 states, with more than 600 places. Customers can pick the flavors they prefer using Flavorware, a patent recipe dispenser integrated inside the truck. They can mix up fruity flavors such as Lemon Lime-A-Licious, Strawberry’d Treasure, and Wild Watermelon.

Kona Ice Honest Review
The shaved ice truck is distinct from other Ice cream trucks. A wide selection of flavors is available, and customers can mix whatever flavors they want with Flavorware. Customers may also choose to have the scoop of vanilla Ice condensed milk and cream with the flavored Ice. Some customers do not like that the Ice isn’t always shaved but crushed, which could cause an unnatural texture and taste.
