The History of In-N-Out Burger
In-N-Out Burger was founded by Esther and Harry Snyder, a married couple from California. It was 1948 when they decided to start the first of their restaurants at Baldwin Park, California, the first drive-through in the southern region of California. They wanted to establish an organization that would offer top-quality, fast food that tasted great and highly welcoming service. The Snyder’s were in the initial several years with their business endeavor doing their best and making mistakes. After all the hard work, They opened their next restaurant within three years of opening the first. In the beginning, the growth was not as rapid; however, the emphasis was on creating a fantastic menu and thus gaining an excellent image in the fast food business.
The couple did not allow franchises of the business because they believed quality was more significant than quantity. Following Harry’s demise in the 1970s, their son Rich assumed the business, and over the following 20 years, the company expanded their business by a whopping 83 sites from just 18. Following Rich’s death in 1993, the couple’s second son Guy was able to take over and continued to expand the business from 83 locations to 140. The company remains family-owned and operated by the same family. The president of the business is Lynsi Snyder, the sole grandchild of the founder. Although it is situated in five states, the number of locations has increased to 300. The tradition of the chain is what’s kept it thriving to this day with great food and customer service that is friendly and at a price that is highly reasonable.
